House Memorial 28 (HM 28) honors former state Rep. Hoyt Pattison, who died on March 3, 2021.


 House Memorial 28 (HM 28) honors Hoyt Pattison, a Republican who represented state House district 63 in the Legislature for more than 20 years. Pattison died March 3, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Clovis who raised sheep and various crops, including milo, wheat and sugar beets. He served in the Legislature from 1963 to 1984, holding the positions of minority whip, minority floor leader and vice chair of the agriculture committee at different times. After leaving the Legislature, Pattison worked as a lobbyist and inventor.
