Synopsis:

 House Bill 3 (HB 3), Department of Transportation Appropriation Act, makes appropriations to the department to operate Fiscal Year 2022.

Analysis:

 House Bill 3 (HB 3) cited as the Department of Transportation Appropriation Act (DOT) establishes the operating budget for DOH for Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22). The total budget is $956.5 million which is a decrease of 3.3% over FY21. State road funds revenues amount to $545.9 million, federal funding is $404.2 million, and agency transfers, $6.4 million. Included in agency transfers is $6.1 million from the Weight Distance Tax Identification Permit Fund.

HB 3 funds project design and construction of state highways; highway maintenance and improvements; management and administration support; and federal grants management and dedicated revenue programs including safety. 

HB 3 will become part of HB 2, General Appropriation Act of 2021.
