Synopsis:

 This bill provides that a majority of members of a governing body present at a meeting can adopt an ordinance or resolution.

Analysis:

 This bill amends Section 3-17-4 NMSA 1978 by providing that a majority of members of a governing body present at a meeting can adopt an ordinance or resolution.  Currently, a majority of all the members of the governing body (not just those present) is required to adopt an ordinance or resolution.  

This bill is effective July 1, 2021.
