Senate Bill 113 (SB 113) requires all new residential construction to include wiring for photovoltaic systems and electrical receptacles for electric vehicle charging.

Senate Bill 113 (SB 113) creates a new section of the Construction Industries Licensing Act requiring photovoltaic systems (systems) and electric vehicle charging stations (station) to be installed in all new home construction after July 1, 2021. The system must provide at least one watt per square foot of heated area. The new construction must include at least one charging station.

Photovoltaic systems are power systems designed to supply usable solar power, including adequate power for electric vehicle charging stations independent or dependent on the grid.

The Construction Industries Commission is charged with modifying necessary electric code to implement SB 113.
