Summary:
 House Bill 58 (HB 58) repeals the law that requires a background check for the sale of a firearm.  
Legislation Overview:
 House Bill 58 (HB 58) repeals Section 30-7-7.1, which is the misdemeanor crime of unlawful sale of a firearm without first conducting a federal instant background check.  

Section 30-7-7.1 does not apply to the sale of a firearm: by or to a person who holds a current and valid firearms license, to a law enforcement agency, between law enforcement officers, or between immediate family members.
