House Bill 338 (HB 338) appropriates seven hundred fifty thousand dollars from the General Fund (GF) to Northern New Mexico State School for expenditure for Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 to implement and develop a cost-effective, energy-efficient and rapid housing construction system and corresponding curriculum. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY 2026 reverts to the GF.Current Law:
The need for energy-efficient, cost-effective home building has been repeatedly offered as part of the solution to the housing crisis our state and nation faces. Northern NM College has fifty programs it offers including certifications for certain professions and tech trade programs with on-the-job training opportunities.
