Summary:
 House Bill 257 (HB 257) expands a Gross Receipts Tax deduction for foods sold at certain convenience stores. 
Legislation Overview:
 House Bill 257 (HB 257) expands the Gross Receipts Tax deduction for foods sold at convenience stores located at least 35 miles from retail food stores. 

Convenience stores are establishments that sell food to be prepared and eaten at home and has at least 20% of total sales of foods that are part of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) though the stores do not necessarily participate in SNAP.

If passed and signed into law, HB 257 is effective July 1, 2024.
