Summary:
 Senate Bill 172 (SB 172) removes the authority of the Forestry Division of the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department to acquire land or interest in land by gift or purchase in the name of the state pursuant to the Forest Conservation Act.

 Senate Bill 172 (SB 172) removes the authority of the Forestry Division of the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department to acquire land or interest in land by gift or purchase in the name of the state pursuant to the Forest Conservation Act by repealing Section 68-2-12 NMSA 1978 of the act. 
Current Law:
 Under Section 68-2-12 NMSA 1978, the EMNRD has the authority to acquire land or interest in land by gift or purchase in the name of the state pursuant to the Forest Conservation Act.
