Summary:
 House Bill 193 provides for the Legislative Education Study Committee to study issues pertaining to New Mexico’s public education system. 
Legislation Overview:
 House Bill 193 makes changes to a section that specifies the duties of the Legislative Education Study Committee. 
SECTION 1 amends Legislative Branch in Legislative Education Study Committee to insert the title: Duties of the Legislative Education Study Committee. 
Subsection B is amended to delete the directions that restrict the Legislative Education Study Committee’s ability to study issues pertaining to the education system. Subsection B also is amended to specify the Legislative Education Study Committee shall study New Mexico’s public educational system.
This section is amended to provide more current and precise language. 
Current Law:
 House Bill 193 amends Section 2-10-3 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1971, Chapter 287, Section 3, as amended) includes limitations on what the committee shall study and provides that the shall by of the New Mexico educational system.
