Summary:
 House Bill 194 (HB 194) relates to labor and requires that public contracts provide for increased contractor and subcontractor reimbursement. HB 194 requires worker wage increases in accordance with and concurrent with state minimum wage increases or increased costs as mandated by law.

SECTION 1 a new section of the Minimum Wage Act :
A. Beginning July 1, 2024, a state agency contract for services shall include in the terms of the contract that individuals employed at the state minimum wage pursuant to the contract or a subcontract of the contract shall receive wage increases in accordance with the state minimum wage. Also the contract shall include a provision that if there is an increase in the state minimum wage or statutory employee benefits, the state is obligated to reimburse the contractor and any subcontractor to that contract so that the contractor and subcontractor are held harmless of any state wage increases.
