 House Bill 183 (HB 183) increases the penalty for negligent use of a deadly weapon to a misdemeanor for a first offense and a fourth degree felony for a second or subsequent offense.
Legislation Overview:
 House Bill 183 (HB 183) increases the penalty for negligent use of a deadly weapon.  Currently, the penalty is a petty misdemeanor.  HB 183 provides that the crime is a misdemeanor for the first offense and a fourth degree felony for a second or subsequent offense.
