Summary:
 House Bill 35 (HB 35) appropriates $1,178,286 to University of New Mexico’s Health Sciences Center for their Communities to Careers program. HB 35 is referred to the Legislative Health and Human Services Committee. 
Legislation Overview:
 House Bill 35 (HB 35) appropriates $1,178,286 to the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center’s Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). The funds are to support DEI efforts through the Communities to Careers (C2C) program to diversity health professions to better reflect the population of the state. C2C engages kindergarteners through graduate students to explore health careers and return to serve their communities. 

The appropriation is for Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) and unspent funds revert to the General Fund at the end of the FY25. HB 35 is referred to the Legislative Health and Human Services Committee.
