Senate Bill 494 makes an appropriation of $150,000 from the Government Results and Opportunity Program Fund (Fund) to the Public Education Department for expenditure in Fiscal Year 2026 to contract with a national organization that publishes official guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiovascular care to train educational personnel in rural school districts to use defibrillators in a cardiac emergency. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of Fiscal Year 2026 shall revert to the Fund.Amendments:
Senate Bill 494 is amended by the Senate Education Committee as follows: In SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION the amount appropriated is changed from $150,000 to $450,000. The time frame for the expenditure is changed from one year, Fiscal Year 2026, to “years 2026 through 2028”. In the final sentence, Fiscal Year 2026 is changed to Fiscal Year 2028.
